Amy Chan
Programme Introduction
Light artist Amy Chan and artist Chu Bo-wo continue their years-long collaborative journey. With two and three copies of chromosome 21 respectively, their research begins with Chu's unique aesthetics and practices, using contemporary performance lighting and ceramics as mediums to explore and redefine the boundaries between Down syndrome, medicine, art, and society. The project aims to go beyond simply celebrating individual distinctiveness, instead reflecting on broader medico-social frameworks and critically examine the very essence of artistic creation.
