Piano and Dreams – Music Performance and Sharing by Lee Shing
“Being visually impaired has never deterred me from performing because I have always played from my heart,”
Explains classical pianist Lee Shing, who provides further illuminating thoughts on searching for and realising his aspirations of a career in music in these upbeat 2022-23 School Tour Demonstration appearances. Here, Lee recounts the ups and downs he has faced along the way, instilling confidence, raising awareness, and inspiring an appreciation of diversity in his young audiences while also enhancing the development of a more inclusive environment.
Lee is a recipient of Hong Kong’s Artists with Disability Development Fund, which enabled him to further his musical dreams in Salzburg and Vienna. He has studied with renowned pianist Michelle Kim and been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York. Today, Lee continues to seek collaborations with different artists and groups to create a positive impact on society through his music.
