An ingenious spin on Charles Dickens’s classic novel that is likely to thrill and enthral. This critically acclaimed British production retells Charles Dickens’s novel through the medium of sign language.
A wonderful heartrending adaptation of a literary classic that will leave you wanting more!

Award-winning British playwright Bryony Lavery puts an ingenious new twist on Charles Dickens’s classic novel with this stage production, signed in its entirety by deaf and hearing actors. The characters each have their own specific qualities that are heightened by the sign-language communication.

The basic story of Dickens’s impoverished orphan Oliver, who falls in with Fagin’s gang of pickpockets, is still there but there are a few new elements added. This production by Ramps on the Moon, which specialises in inclusive shows with deaf actors and actors with disabilities, is sure to excite all kinds of audiences.

The harshness of Victorian London is laid bare but Dickens’s humour and humanity shine through under Amy Leach’s production, with elegant surtitles projected on a screen for non-sign-language-fluent audiences.

Ramps on the Moon’s Oliver Twist is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience, showing a timeless classic in a new light.
