  • We Run Like Rivers – Workshop with Claire Cunningham

    What might we discover if we follow the lead of those who reach for the ground through crutches, or feel through wheels that trace the terrain like a trickle of water?

    Join acclaimed performer and disabled choreographer Claire Cunningham to explore the ways in which different bodies and physicalities encounter the world, and what can be learned from Crip and disabled expertise. Using themes from Cunningham’s audio work Source//Ground, created with Prof Julia Watts Belser as part of their audio series We Run Like Rivers, participants share their own ways of navigating the world and how this is affected by their bodies and lived experiences.

    This workshop is open to anyone, with or without dance experience or disabilities. The audio work Source//Ground, and transcripts in English and Cantonese will be sent to participants in advance.

  • Methodologies for Teaching, Choreography and Access – Workshop with Claire Cunningham

    In this workshop, Claire Cunningham shares the methods and concepts underpinning her performative and choreographic practices, with emphasis on aspects of awareness, perception and individuality. Participants investigate how perceptions of self, other and environment are informed and shaped by movement, language, writing, watching, listening and feeling, as well as difference and diversity, and how this can shape access methodologies in teaching and choreographic practice.

    The workshop is open to professional dance and theatre artists of diverse physicalities and sensory modalities.

  • Characters and Their Physicality - Workshop with Ramesh Meyyappan

    Join Ramesh Meyyappan to explore visual theatrical language and the idea of the physicality of characters. Using visual texts as a basis for exploration, participants consider the visual possibilities within storytelling and create a short visual narrative using choreographed movement and sign mime. The workshop also looks at how awareness of the body and movement can shape a character, and how nuances of thoughts and feelings are shown visually and physically.

    In this workshop, Ruth Montgomery encourages participants to connect emotionally and intellectually with music. Exploring how visual information translates into movement and feeling, participants examine the structure of musical pieces, and how rhythm, melody and harmony create a cohesive whole. Working together, they generate visual representations of the music they hear, and use these as a basis for exploration and expression.

  • #OOTD Art Making Workshop

    After the performances of “In Touch We Trust”, the audience can join the public workshops to create their “OOTD” (Outfit Of The Day). Each participant will be given a costume kit with “character cardboard” and various materials. We invite participants to focus on their touch senses to create their unique “OOTD”.

  • Costume Design Sharing

    The costume designers of "In Touch We Trust" will present a costume tour and sharing session for the audience, introducing their meticulously designed outfits along with the stories and inspirations behind their creations. Audience will also have the opportunity to get up close to the costumes and engage in discussions with the artists.
